Well no need to freak out, but it seems that the crisis reached .ro too. And I think the EUR/RON increased exchange rate gave us all something to think (and talk) about and shacked our “it won’t happen to me” optimism.
And then we see our elected politicians making a fool out of themselves and us, and wonder what did we do wrong… I don’t have an answer to that, but then again this was not meant to be a sad, crisis post, but one that wants to change a little bit the perspective.
I was reading earlier some articles based on the Crisis = Danger + Opportunity equation, and I instantly thought about the post-revolution times in .ro, when people that saw the opportunities made it, while the others struggled to stay out of the danger zone. And very often, in the following years we would hear them complain and making wishful thinking sentences that begun with “if I had to live those years again… etc, etc”.
Well here’s that chance hitting us hard from all parts. But you know what? I think we’ll see history repeat itself (as always), and the new emerging entrepreneurial class will be just as small, and just as criticized.

A simple, yet informative post.
Most of those at the forefront of post-revolution were fortunate. They were there, on the inside. Others, whose names I won’t mention, made it too, just not as big.
We are a country that is predominately controlled by money, and corruption.
Those that complain, those that ignore the rules, those that steal, do so, knowing they’ll get away with it.
In order for our government to be given respect, it must first respect its citizens. Governments that fail around the world believe in “take, take, take” and never the “give, give, give”. Those that have given, have taken.
I could go on about this for hours, and write a book, but I won’t here!
Let’s just hope that something changes fast, and history DOES NOT repeat itself
